If you were to Google “30 days to change”, or “30 day challenge” you’ll find there are quite a few versions out there. For instance; 30 days to a fitter you, 30 days to a healthier diet, 30 days to stop smoking and so on, but the one I would like to share with you is a 30 day challenge that for me, offers a way in which to change your life, the way you look at it, circumnavigate it and the way you go about living it.
It’s not a physical challenge, but an opportunity for some healthy introspection.
30 Day Challenge
As far as I know this 30 day challenge was devised by author and motivational speaker Alex Banayan, but it was my son Max who introduced me to it. For those of you who read my blogs and have read my book Health Wealth & Hypnosis, you will know that my children are a constant source of pride and inspiration to me, and as much as I have taught them, they have taught me in equal measure.
Now the scientific jury is out when it comes to how long it takes to break or create a habit. But for me in my professional experience having worked with hundreds of clients from around the world, 30 days appears to be optimal.
And so to the challenge, a 30 day challenge that could change everything (not necessarily the world, but the world according to you) and it could hardly be easier.
Starting this evening and for the next 30 days before you go to bed, ask yourself the following questions and write down your answers. Dig deep if you need to, some days you’ll find you can answer immediately, other days you might need to dig down and give it some deep thought. Don’t judge your answers. Don’t try to come up with new answers if the same answers keep popping up, just write them down as they come.
The key to this challenge is to do it EVERY DAY FOR 30 DAYS. I can not emphasise this enough!
The Questions:
- What filled me with enthusiasm today?
- What drained me of energy today?
- What did I learn about myself today?
At the end of the 30 days, go over all of your answers, study them objectively and then answer this final question:
- What has filled me with enthusiasm this MONTH?
The whole point of this exercise is to help you cultivate a better way of living your life, to give you some clarity and to see in all its glory, all that you need to stop doing, all you need to do more of as well as a nudge to point you in the right direction.
I wishing you all that you wish for yourselves.
Enjoy the ride.
