The Perfect Day Exercise (also known as The Ideal Day Exercise) is a fabulous and super effective way to help you create, spell out, carve out in detail, your idea of your perfect day, without limitations. After all, the only limitations you have are the ones you impose on yourself. Truth.
Your perfect day could take up an A4 piece of paper or it could be a few pages long, it really doesn’t matter, what does matter, is that you spell it out and I repeat, without any self-imposed limitations, not even one.
Look ahead anywhere from 1 to 10 years but try to avoid using specific dates or deadlines. Using dates and deadlines for goal setting is fine, but this exercise is different. This is a written vision board outlining one single day.
As you write, notice how you feel as you write. If there’s no feeling behind what you’re writing, you’re writing for writings sake and will likely prove to be a fruitless task. FEELINGS are everything. Feelings are the language of your subconscious mind, and if you don’t feel it, your subconscious mind wont believe it. I can not stress this enough. If you’re finding it a bit of a challenge to feel as your write, try again later. Try think of a time when you felt fantastic, happy, excited, close your eyes and relive that moment, THIS is the feeling I’m talking about. It’s crucial.
I’m going to share with you the blueprint that I use, I read my perfect day every single morning before I begin my meditation, and I will say, from the bottom of my heart, that it fills my mind, body and soul with such joy that I am able to slip into the most soothing mediation in less than a minute. Much of my perfect day has materialised, as it does, I either leave it as it is or embellish! I write without limitation.
Feel free to rewrite, tweak, add or delete things from your perfect day text every now and again, you’re only human and things change right? However, the best way to begin is to be clear on what it is you want to experience and who it is you want to become.
Here goes:
